Heather was appointed Interim Director of the Washington State Office of the Corrections Ombuds in 2026 and has served in progressively responsible leadership roles for the past five years. Born and raised in Northern California, Heather holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and brings a perspective of lived experience as a formerly incarcerated person. She is passionate about improving systems, collaborating with community partners, helping others, and leading in ways that center humanity.
